Hi

I enjoyed your flickr images especially the wide angle, wonder what lens you are using, I have a sigma 10-20mm.
Now lets see some from the salt lakes especially on a still evening.

enjoy life

Thank you for your kind comments Graham.

The lens is a Tokina 10 - 17mm Fisheye. Originally wanted the 12 -24mm but they were out of stock (might still go for it when finances allow).

I must I haven't heard a bad report about Tokina, the build quality is superb and as for sharpness and contrast... I'm well impressed.

I did consider Sigma but having owned a 28 - 200mm fitted to my old Minolta Dynax (film) I was never happy with the results.

I'm over to GA shortly so I'll check out the salt lakes - are they the ones near Guadamar?

The salt lakes between Santa Pola & La Marina on the N332 nice reflections on a still day, plenty of birdlife - herons, flamingoes & other waterfowl plus the sunsets. There is an area you can pull into after the tower lay by which attracts bird watchers you ideally need a lens 300mm plus for the flamingos, watch your step after rain it can be very soft. Also the lakes opposite the salt museum have the flamingoes very close to the road and a couple of weekes ago there were some very young about.

Robin

I have replied to your pm.
Seeing that the three of us are Nikon users perhaps a seperate thread could be started to discuss the relative lenses used.
