Seriously, the savings from having a thermostatic control on your water heater can save you mucho €€€'s per year. In just two or three years it equates to a free replacement for the rubbish the builders install.
I have been playing with the temperature of my hot water this summer to evaluate the money we can save. At full temperature our water heaters heat the hot supply to around 70ºC. By turning this down to 3/4 (about 55ºC) I estimate a saving of around €20 per month. From June to September, even October, this is plenty hot enough for 2 peoples' showers per day from a 50 litre tank or 4 people from an 80 litre tank.
You do the math. If you have an old water heater it is heating scale as well as water, if you don't have a thermostatic control, you are burning your money.
Quality new water heaters from just €189 fitted. In two or three years they pay for themselves. Also general plumbing services at the best value you will find anywhere.
