Have any of you any experience in this that you could share?

Browsing the web I have seen some realy good cars at very good prices.

Tom at Legal Solution in La Marina has been a gem in giving me the costs of putting a car on Spanish plates and the relevent level of emmision taxes.

From seeing a car to it being ready to drive down here what is the normal lead time.........

What discount on the screen price should I expect........round here at the moment I'm getting offered at least 10% without much of a haggle......

Do all the traders offer 10 day insurance..........and is it fully comp

Do they offer some sort of insurance backed guarantee, obviously you cant nip back to Germany (I know that you can buy these in the UK.......can you in Spain by the way)

Any experiences good or bad would be gratefuly received.

if you drive it down to spain, in real terms paperwork only takes couple of days, however you have the human element, etc.


The insurance is 3rd party only

Discount, well its a buyers market at present so may get more.

Dont forget you will need export plates from germany plus all receipts.

Guarantees, hmm most will ask you to take it back to them, bit of problem.

I think you have to take gamble, if car is what it is then go for it.
