No, Argentinian.  Most of our frozen prawns come from other countries and the Argentinian I heard are very good, they looked lovely so I got more than I usually get due to the good price.
Consum Supermarket is in Gran alacant, before Lidl.

Oh dear!  I thought that you were interested in reducing energy use.  What is the carbon footprint of these prawns?

Think globally, act locally.

I can't understand how Consum keep in business.  Whenever we go there the staff seem to outnumber the customers.

Keith and Jen

Maybe they are Argentinian Prawns that have swam to Santa Pola

No-one mentioned that they were flown here

I have an Argentinian Neighbour no-one moans about his effect on Global Warming by living in Spain

Just a thought

A couple of days ago we were in Lidl in Elche.

The fruit stand was stuffed full of Italian grapes.

Makes you wonder at times as 10Km away are millions of eating grapes in Hondon, Aspe, Monteforte etc..

Hi All!

Now we're on the subject of Carbon Footprint...

Carbon Footprint Doubts

I always did suspect it was just a another way of raising tax pound/dollars/euros.
Why, oh why, didn't I take the BLUE pill?

Doubt

Postby ash » Wed Sep 16, 2009 1:16 pm

The problem is with all the subjects

Ozone Layer

Carbon Footprint

Mad Cow

Swine Flu

Salmonella

People read a head line in a paper and the Mass Hysteria begins

What really seems to happen is a few companies make millions out of these emotive subjects.

One thing I have learnt over the years is the only thing to believe in the papers is the date and only after checking it against my Watch.

I was merely interested in the source of the prawns.  Had they been local and fresh I may have bought some.

I also understood that Shellmapfre was interested in saving the world from unnecessary use of energy derived from fossil fuels.

I did not initiate the thread.  Had I done so it would have been in the 'Food and Recipes' section.

The moderator on this site runs a much tighter ship than 'the other place'.  I trust his judgement if things get out of hand.  He may close the thread after this exchange especially after it has drifted far away from the original topic.
