Telefonica cancelation

Postby john hannon » Fri Oct 30, 2009 6:53 pm

Hi all, we recently (four weeks ago) had internet provided by GranNet (www.grannet.es), I have been very pleased with the service.........in fact its been perfect.

We have now decided to go with them for our phone service as well so will no longer need Telefonica.

Has anyone cancelled their Telifonica service.........if so are there any pitfalls to be aware of, or is it a simple process.........

Regards all

John

IIRC we called Telefonica and then had to send a fax. The service was disconnected on the correct day but we kept receiving direct debits for about 4 months after which the bank returned unpaid. The last direct debit they tried to take was for 5 cents. :o

When we canceled adsl on our old house they sent a letter to us which we had to fax back or post.

Despite faxing it back 3 times and posting to them, they claimed not to have received it.

It took quite a few phone calls to resolve.

Personally if in same situation again I would cancel direct debit and let them come to you for the final settlement bill.

I phoned telefonica to cancel the phone line, they offered to give to let me have it line rental free for the next three months whilst I reconsidered my decision to leave them. Told them that I wanted to cancel it!!

I was told that it wasnt a problem, that the line would be cancelled within the next fifteen days and that the final paymeny would be taken out of my account next month.....fingers crossed.
