Where do you like to sit, have a drink and chill...........

...........two of my favourites

The beach bar on the Carabassi, at E2 for a small beer a bit pricey, but what the hell. Put my ipod on, listen to a Mark Knofler/Chris Rea/Bruce Sprinstein and I could be in heaven..........its a pity they dont play better music at the bar...........a bit boom boom boom for me..........but as Mrs H says thats my age......

On the terrace at the Hotel Montiboli at Villajoyosa, lovely surroundings, great view, very good cup of coffee and at about E5 for two cups with biscuits I'm not complaining.......see  http://www.montiboli.com/

What about you?

Regards all

Is there any place in G.A. that has views and you can have just a drink, not a Restaurant?  That will be the place where I would like to do so and I can´t remember of any in G.A.
So far I like to have a good piece of cake near the Chinese shop - Pharmacy area, a narrow but pleasant coffee shop that is also a fresh bread shop who also have three tables outside, because their cakes are delicious and are made in a cake place of Elche as the owner was telling me.

Good choice John I stayed a few times at that hotel...do they still have the phone built into the pool - where you could call your drinks order in without having to get out of the pool. Fab!

Chilling out in GA?

We quite like Meson Tio Pepe in Arenales...always friendly service as well as easy to get table with great views of the Med as well as a welcome breeze.

In GA itself with views? El Paripe has a great terrace with views over the bay - tapas if you want them. Spanish run and Ito, the main man, is a good host.

Shell do you mean La Cesta? The view isn't as good as El Paripe but you're right about the cakes!
Why, oh why, didn't I take the BLUE pill?

favorite place would have to be one of the front terraces at home with a beer & a view that covers the whole bay from Carribassi beach round to San Juan and beyond on a clear day. Cheapest beer & best choice of music  :D

Hi Rich, havn't noticed the phone at the pool.........but it wouldn't surprise me.

Mrs H and I stayed a couple of times at a hotel in northern Spain that was a member of the Relais and Chateaux collection, as I believe the Montoboli is..........it was fantastic.

If you ever want to find a superb hotel for that special break then look no further than members of Relais and Chateaux.

Pricey, but as with everything you get what you pay for.

markc............if I could change one thing about my house it would be for a sea view......I am envious..........fancy some company??????????

If you want to just sit and relax(sorry no drink) the bench half way down cardiac hill set into the small garden is superb.
I suppose you could have a drink but then again the local policia may think you are one of the local wino's.
I am quite lucky from our roof terrace I have the pool in front and the beach behind and the cheapest bar in GA

Summer evening drinks on the terrace of Tablao Los Lunares (next to El Peripe). Really nice views with good chillout music going on usually

I like Miramar at Santa Pola marina.

Good tapas and great views of all the various boats and yachts. Considering the location, we don't find it overly priced either - which is always a bonus!

The bus station's only a few minutes walk away too, which means you don't have to worry about having that extra glass, or three, of vino! :D
Where shoes are concerned, need and want mean exactly the same!
