Telefonica, naughty but give it a go...

Postby House Doctor » Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:57 am

I have been paying Telefonica for broadband and phone serices for over five years now. I fnd it offensive when I am excluded from half price offers for new customers.

Recently, Telefonica have been offering 6Mb broadband for €19.90 or so per month for the first year for new customers.

Well, I thought I'd call 1004 and see if they would extend the offer to loyal, long standing customers... I said there was an alternative provider offering broadband, albeit slower, at €24.90 per month. I asked "tell me why I shouldn't change to this supplier"... The operator said "we will put you on a new 1 year contract at the offer price...".

Including IVA I will now save over €300 in the next year..

Give it a go and let us all know how you get on...

Buena Suerte..

Interesting

I was trying to swap from telefonica to vodafone but vodafone in the end could not offer the same speed. (3m vs 6m).

Where are details of the €19 / month rate ? On website it shows €29 (still a good €10 saving per month).

Who did you use as the competitor ?

thanks

Robin...

Telefonica were running an advert on Spanish TV offering Broadband at €19.90 a month for 1 year.

Not sure who the other provider was now but Europa offer ADSL at about €25 per month. Check online and see what others are offering before challenging Telefonica. If you are a long standing customer they are likely to offer a better deal to keep the custom, especially in these tough economic times.

For once, we can use the recession to our advantage..

Good luck.

Hi

Just tried 1004 about the offer and was told that this promotion ended on 21st September

When did you make your arrangement HD?
Cheers

Ian

I did this about a month ago but waited for the next bill to confirm it had gone through correctly. Didn't want to get peoples hopes up... Looks like I've done just that por nada.

Keep an eye on their website (Spanish version) and on tv for new offers and try again when the next one comes along. They usually have some deal for new customers which you could convince them to extend if you are a long standing customer.

Sorry all.

Andy
