Alicante extends its mains gas pipeline

An additional 160 kms will bring natural gas to 350,000 more homes and businesses

A project which will build 160 kms of pipeline to bring natural gas to 390,000 Alicante homes and businesses has been awarded by the regional government to Gas Natural, Iberdrola and Endesa.

Budgeted with 28 million €, the project will affect five areas of Alicante province: more than 32 kms of pipeline to bring gas to Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Pilar de la Horadada; another 26 kms for the area of Onil-Sax-Biar; and 11 in the Medio Vinalopó. Diario Información gives the final two areas as the Marina Baixa and the Marina Alta.

The natural gas network of pipelines currently in place supplies the fuel to 850,000 homes and businesses in the province.
