Hells bells no sooner do I recommend you try the G10 than the G11 is on the horizon, yesterday's AP says.

Out in October.

Thanks for the input. I suspect that ultimately I shall be driven more by cost than quality and versatility. It's difficult justifying to " 'er indoors" a grand on "toys" when comparing with a new top in M&S for twenty quid.

Two options...

1 Pop down to your nearest Canon/Nikon dealer, get what heck you want and then 'neglect' to mention it ;)

2 Pick up a copy of AP and trawl through the second user kit

Or consider Olympus... you can get a E520 a 14-42mm & a 40-150mm for £449.00 at http://www.cameraworld.co.uk, you could even get it vat free.

Or if you prefer film there's nothing wrong with going second user 'classic'. Check out the Nikon F manual focus models at http://www.ffordes.com
